Handgun 101- The Fundamentals

Audience

This class is our foundationals handgun course and is geared towards the new shooter or experienced shooter wanting a refresher on the fundamentals and basics..  This course will take the shooter through the understanding of handguns and how they operate and how to properly operate them.

Never fired a firearm before?  This course is for the beginner level shooters looking to understand the safe and efficient use of their firearm.  Students will gain a solid use of their firearm.  Students will gain a solid skill set in basic shooting fundamentals, manipulation skills, and storage considerations.  More experienced shooters who may be “rusty” will refine their current skill set in order to progress as better shooters.

Essential concepts covered include:

• Firearm Selection
• Safety Considerations
• Basic Shooting Fundamentals
• Basic Loading and unloading
• Shooting positions
• Maintenance Considerations

Needed Supplies:

• Semi Automatic Handgun in good working order with 2 magazines
• 150 Rounds of ammunition
• Eye and Ear Protection
• Snacks and Drink
• Bug Spray/Sunscreen
• Clothing for the climate.  We will shoot in light rain
• Note Taking Materials
